What’s New at Aegis Learning – Exciting New Tools and Programs!

Aegis Learning Edge is in Impact, Value and Results

Debut of Q3 and The Path from Aegis Learning

Aegis Learning never stops innovating.  And innovating for you and your growth and we are excited to offer two new tools for your learning and growth.

Q3 is the groundbreaking combination of three pieces of intelligence that neuroscientists and behaviorists indicate have a greater impact on success than traditionally measured IQ.  Q3 combines learning and growth in emotional intelligence, relational intelligence and situational intelligence to provide an incredible growth in personal and professional success factors.  This highly validated set of skills is powerful for leaders, sales professionals, customer service providers and entrepreneurs.   Learn more by clicking the image below.

Aegis Path is a unique set of programmed follow-up tools that will automatically sent to all of our program participants.  This reminder and challenge is accompanied with a self-assessment to measure continued progress and help our participants continue to map out their success in action plan form.  But one of the best parts of Aegis Path is an independent set of tools sent to participant’s sponsors/mentors/leaders that assist them in keeping the learning and culture changing competencies living in their organization.  It maps out discussion points and follow-up with participants to ensure that the return on training investment is long-lived.

A Couple of Notes About Our Testimonials

The testimonials that Aegis Learning uses and shares are different.  And we are quite proud of those differences.

First, our testimonals are from real people and we use their name.  If you would like the contact information for them, please contact us.

Secondly, but not certainly less important, our testimonials are from projects in which we have actually performed the work.  We can, and will, articulate and describe the project, context and subject for you.

You may also notice the pictures we use on this website and in our social media are from actual projects with real customers.   Ones that will gladly tell you about the impact and value we delivered for them.

Please take a moment and see what our customers say about us and the Aegis Edge.

The 10-Choosing Your Training Provider

There are certainly more important relationships than your training and organizational development provider.  Your doctor.  Your dentist.  Your tax professional to name a few.

But don’t undervalue the need to perform due diligence and pick a solid training and organizational development provider.  These are people that you are trusting with your most valued asset, your team.  Slick graphics and a cool website rarely tell a story of true effectiveness.  Some of the best organizational development people in the world have very small footprints on social media, the internet and would never be considered flashy but their value is unsurpassed.

  1. Results Matter – Look for an organizational development provider that has produced results for other organizations and can document those results.  Projects that they have actually worked on and not just projects that came with their franchise.
  2. Experience Matters – Look for depth of experience in not only years but in projects and scope.  Talent will carry some projects but the best practices and lessons learned are hard to replicate in a matter of months or a few short years.
  3. Qualifications Matter – Academic and professional certifications have value.  Look for those providers who’s team carries both especially when working with psychometric instruments and complex models.  You can’t be a senior executive lead facilitator with a month of experience and no credentials.
  4. References Matter – Look for a learning provider that has real references with names.  Call those references and check out the project leader and the outcomes from that project.
  5. Science and Thought Leadership Matter – Style is cool but at the end of the day, it is about delivering sound, useable and valid training.  Make sure your provider is a thought and practice leader by reviewing books, publications and proprietary work they have done.
  6. Credibility Matters – Many large projects require investment and technical credibility.  Check the Dun and Bradstreet rating.  Check liability insurance.  Check public records for legal actions.
  7. Commitment Matters – Look for a learning company that will partner with you and not just shove their solution down to you.  You will need someone who is as committed to your training objectives as you are and someone willing to become your learning partner.
  8. Service Matters – This one is any easy one.  Will your training provider be available at their convenience or yours?  Make sure you will receive priority service and treatment from your training and organizational development provider.
  9. Quality Matters – Little things do matter.  Correct words, grammar, spelling and material quality are part of the learning experience.  Make sure your training provider is committed to ensuring quality at every turn.
  10. Engagement Matters – Training and any kind of learning cannot be drudgery.  Make certain that your provider offers some spirit and not just canned slides or reading from a script.

Aegis Learning Innovations

The team at Aegis Learning has been hard at work developing solutions and resources that help you grow.  Our big board of ideas is pretty full but we wanted to share some of the most exciting updates that will have priority over the coming months.

NEW BOOKS AND RESOURCES

The Heart of Leadership and The Little Book of Leadership are both in the works and should be released by the end of 2017.  IMPACT Cards, with daily leadership encouragement and tips, will be available by mid year and we are very excited about those.

NEW PROGRAMS

2017 will have the debut of several new training programs including The Mindful Leader.  These programs are built with the same commitment to impact, results and value that have been our hallmark for the past 20 years.

NEW ASSESSMENT

Validation is currently underway for the IMPACT 360.  This multi-rater instrument is built on the statistically accurate Ten Competencies of Outstanding Leadership.  It will provide participants with rated and free form feedback that is connected to proven leadership success.  Versions for executives, managers and supervisors will have different levels of assessment data and reporting.

NEW DELIVERY METHODS

Technology allows Aegis Learning the opportunity to deliver high quality learning content in many more ways than ever before.  We are currently in development of an app, podcast format material and converting our video library to useable content for our participants.  Anyway we can help learning and reach you, we will.

PUBLIC ENROLLMENT PROGRAMS

August marks a return to our beginning.  In 1992, working with the Community College of Southern Nevada and subsequently UNLV, we offered a modest set of open enrollment programs related to customer service and leadership.  In 2017, we return to this format with some exciting programs offered in August in both Las Vegas and Southern Utah.  Look for the dates and locations shortly.

Leading Edge – Volume 1 – Welcome

Leading Edge from Aegis Learning

Good morning and I sincerely hope this note finds you well.

As many of you know, I am no longer with SEE, Inc. (Soaring Eagle Enterprises) and this occurred two weeks short of our 25th anniversary of delivering great training, coaching and consulting services.

And as one door closes, a new, and better one opens.  Aegis Learning is truly “Dedicated to Your Success” and I promise to provide the same great training programs, leadership development, customer service initiatives and high performance team building you have come to expect from me.  All of this with a healthy dose of fun and laughter.  We also won’t be selling any coffee cups or socks.

I would like to extend a huge thank you and appreciation to those people we have already heard from and continued to show their faith and support in the work we do.  It has been humbling and I am grateful for your trust.

In the coming weeks, we will return to the ingredients to build better workplaces, improve lives, and introduce you to some new Aegis Learning team members.  As always, I look forward to your comments and input.  Thank you again.

Sincerely,

Tim Schneider

The 10-Surefire Pick-Me-Ups

No one is immune from getting down from time-to-time.  Even the most energetic and positive people need to recharge, regroup and get back some of that positive spark that drives energy and makes life a better place.

Below are ten guaranteed ways to restore that positivity and give yourself a little boost for the day:

1.  Praise, compliment or thank someone.

2.  Perform a random act of kindness.  Doesn’t have to be anything big.

3.  Encourage someone who may be struggling a bit or having a tough time.

4.  Go outside and get fresh air.

5.  Seek some sunshine.

6.  Talk to a friend or family member.  No motive or want nothing.  Just say hello and see how they are doing.

7.  Go for a drive and see a new part of your neighborhood, town or area.

8.  Recall an especially fond memory about something or someone.

9.  Play.  Play a game.  Complete a puzzle.  Do something that you enjoy doing.

10.  Smile at someone.
